I'm so excited! Obviously, as always ODAO for all of these because I'm sure I'll be into whatever you go for, but here follow some suggestions in case you want a few ideas.



Le Jardin Des Larmes - ZAZ ft. Till Lindemann (Music Video)

Summary: I initially thought the story was told in chronological order, with Zaz somehow raising Till from the dead/whatever he is at the beginning to come keep her company only to kill him and rebury him, but upon closer examination I think the middle part might be a flashback. I do think the idea of him as an undead servant or maybe some kind of spirit/construct of the desert would be cool, but a more mundane sort of murder plot would also be a good time (also, what's up with him being there apparently looking for himself at the end? For her in the alternate version where he strangled her instead? Maybe he's a relative?) Art-wise I just love the beautiful jewel tones it's all shot in so something really capitalizing on that would be great.

Blacksnake - Charming Disaster (Song)

Summary: I love how witchy this all is. The band describes it as " two powerful figures making efforts to protect themselves from each other using magic spells...or two musicians playing music together in a ritualistic way," which definitely seems like a good jumping-off point - the fact that they seem to be romantically involved while worrying that the other is a harbinger of death could be an entire novel in itself, not to mention all of the potential for magic worldbuilding about what exactly they're doing together/apart. Artistically, a lot of these lines are wonderfully aesthetic though I do especially like "the mirror, cracked and broken, making Xes of my eyes."

Deutschland - Rammstein (Music Video)

If you're a German history buff, (or would like to be) go nuts with the historical AUs, especially the Romans and the Weimar fight club. If you're not or the historical periods are touchy enough that you'd rather leave leave them alone (entirely understandable) I'd also dearly love something more generically fantastic about the armored lady's presence on the battlefield resurrecting soldiers, or the astronaut-priests attending upon the space nun pregnant with puppies, or the cannibal monks with bondage mask guys trapped under their table for some reason. Just be as lush, OTT and weird/fucked-up as the video is, either visually or verbally, and have fun with the imagery and implications. Also, Rammstein was my very first introduction to bandslash as a wee lass, so if by some chance you're into that as well then any of the above with added boning between the guys, or the guys and Germania, would be entirely welcome.

So to recap:

• I'm happy I (mostly) kept my mouth shut and will continue to (mostly) do so
• I'm even happier that the whole thing legitimately seems to have come to nothing
• I stand by having reserved my judgement even if that makes me either a bad fan or a bad feminist
• I wish a good chunk of the Internet would shut the fuck up and stop being sore winners, but that's just par for the course

So apart from that, stuff's been pretty good. After a year plus determined to keep my expectations low Baldur's Gate 3 is better than I could have imagined, I've been able to get some stuff onto our summer/fall menu at work (yuzu coconut panna cotta, wooooo!) the state is less on fire than it's been, the cats are well, all the usual stuff. I've got two wines going, one mulberry courtesy of my dad's tree and one assorted melon courtesy of a breakfast fruit platter I took most of home from work the other day. Currently I'm trying to wrangle Season 2 of the Blades in the Dark game I've been running to a somewhat satisfying conclusion while still constantly stressing about whether it makes any internally consistent sense, but the players seem to be having fun which is the important part. God, I suddenly remember why I never used to update my LiveJournal that much back in the day. Enjoy this dose of venting/inanity and hopefully I'll see all like four of you around.

At the encouragement ofsaltedpriv, and because I kind of want to start posting in a semi-public location a little more in coming times, here are some books I read in 2022 and what I thought about them. I haven't put down all of them (especially since I would have to recap/review almost all of the Whybourn and Griffin series and that would get very repetitive very fast) but today I decided to get drunk and post my five greatest hits, plus the top five that still made a big impression even if I didn't exactly enjoy the whole reading process:

To be quite frank I would be thrilled by any of the nominated pairings. If you want to go for Shaleän and her wife I would beg you for porn that incorporates as much worldbuilding and detail wank as possible in addition to whatever porn you come up with. As far as more prominent characters, though, I'm a huge fan of people doing wonderful, filthy things to Maia. His wife, his secretary, his nohecharei, any nominated other party, combinations of the above, just go all out. I'm especially a fan of relatively inexperienced, insecure parties having their minds completely blown by lovers to the point of tears/begging/totally breaking down, so wherever the nominated tags take you just go all out and have fun with it.

Rivers of London series, Ben Aaronovich

Whatever pairing you choose, I hope to see Peter in waaaaay over his head. Getting addicted to whatever Molly did to him in Midnight Riot? Overwhelmed by creepy river magic as Beverly fucks him six ways to next week? Finally viscerally realizing that Nightingale is far, far older and more powerful than he's ever dreamed of in bed, let alone out of it? One of the things I've enjoyed most in my past few months of catching up with the series is the sense of slow-building discovery, with Peter taking it all in stride and immediately jumping into the deep end, occasionally to his benefit and occasionally to his detriment. I'd love to see that carried over into porn.

Fallout: New Vegas, Bethesda Games

I love Veronica and whatever you've got for any of these pairings I'm happy with. Desperate, furtive sex in some Brotherhood outpost with Christine before it all kicked off? Drunkenly hooking up with Cass and either deciding it was a terrible idea or pursing that to eventual happiness? H/C stuff with Julie at the Old Mormon Fort?
